The Fairfield Prep Hockey team defeated Notre Dame West Haven 3-0 at a sold out M&T Bank Arena (Quinnipiac University) to win the school's 19th CIAC Division 1 State Championship. Led by first year Head Coach
Vin O'Hara, the Jesuits won the last 9 games of the season, including the SCC Championship against ND West Haven, to finish the season 18-6. The Jesuits struck first with a
James Murphy goal in the first period and carried a 2-0 lead heading into the 3rd period after
Blake Baksay added another goal in the 2nd period. The Jesuits then held off a furious push by Notre Dame for the entire third period, behind 42 saves by senior goalie
James Heber. As time was running out Murphy added any empty net goal to seal the victory for the Jesuits. In addition to the state championship victory, the Jesuits were named the CT HIgh School Coaches Association Team of the Year.
