About Fairfield Prep Rugby
Fairfield Prep Rugby fields four teams during the spring season at Fairfield Prep - Freshmen, Junior Varsity, Varsity DI and Varsity DII. Each team plays approximately 8 games each spring with the varsity teams competing against other local programs for the Connecticut State Championship. Most recently the Varsity DI team won the 2023 Connecticut State Rugby Championship.
The teams home field is Grauert Field at Fairfield University which provides ample space for all four teams to practice and play games.
The varsity program also makes a spring trip each year to compete against top programs regionally and nationally.
Generally the season begins on March 1st and runs through the first week of June. The program also offers summer and fall training both in the weight room and on the pitch.
