Graham Niemi is entering his 9th season as the Fairfield Prep Head Lacrosse Coach.  Coach Niemi was a four-year letter-winner for the Maryland Lacrosse team and a 1997 graduate.  Niemi has spent 20 years as a college assistant coach at the JUCO, DIII and DI levels. Before coming to Prep he spent 13 years at Yale University helping rebuild the program into a national contender.  During his time at Yale they won one Ivy League Regular Season Championship (2010) and four Ivy League Tournament Championships (2012, 2013, 2015, 2016)  The program also made four NCAA Tournament appearances including a spot in the 2013 NCAA Quarterfinals against Syracuse.  His last season at Yale the program was the #1 ranked team in the NCAA polls for the 1st time in over 20 years.  

Coach Niemi also had previous stops at Anne Arundel Community College, University of Maryland, Washington College (MD) and Loyola College (MD)  During his time as a college player and coach he has been a part of 12 different NCAA tournaments.  He also served as the Head Coach of the Finnish National Team in the 2008 European Championships.

As a player each of his Terrapin squads reached the NCAA playoffs and he was a starter in the 1995 NCAA Championship game loss to Syracuse.  Niemi, the 1996 William P. Cole Award winner as Maryland's best midfielder, was a two-year starter who became an undergraduate assistant coach for the 1997 Terrapin team that made it to the NCAA final.

Coach Niemi serves as Assistant to the Athletic Director at Fairfield Prep.  He currently resides in Milford with his wife Courtney.
