Head Coach:  Rick Hutchinson '87

In 2018-2019, Rick Hutchinson '87 begins his 7th season as Head Coach of the Fairfield Prep Swimming & Diving team. Previously he spent 8 years as Prep's Assistant Varsity Coach to legendary coach Bruce Jaffe. He is a 1987 Fairfield Prep graduate and currently serves as a College Counselor at the school. Last season he coached the team to a first place finish at the SCC Championship for the 14th consecutive year and a Runner-Up finish at the LL and State Open championships. Hutchinson brings coaching experience from both the age group and collegiate level.  He has been an assistant coach at Lehigh University, Middlebury College and Fairfield University as well as with USA Swimming teams in Bethlehem, PA and Burlington, VT.

Hutchinson's competitive swimming career includes 10 years with the Wilton YMCA Wahoos. In high school swimming he was twice named All-State in the 500 freestyle. At Bucknell University he was elected Captain, set a team record in the 1,000 freestyle and earned all All-Patriot League honors.

Hutchinson earned a B.A. from Bucknell University in 1991 and a M.A. from Lehigh University in 1995.
