Fairfield Prep

Coach Mauritz played three years of varsity baseball at Fairfield Prep from 1992-1994, helped lead the Jesuits to a league title in 1993 and co-captained the 1994 team.

After graduating from Fairfield Prep Coach Mauritz attended Providence College where he played four years of varsity baseball from 1995-1998. During his four years at Providence College, Coach Mauritz was a member of the 1995 team which went 44-15, won the Big East Regular Season Title and appeared in the NCAA Division I Regional in Wichita, Kansas. The 1996 squad was the Big East American Division Co-Champion and he co-captained the 1998 team which qualified for the Big East Tournament.

Coach Mauritz returned to the Fairfield Prep Baseball program in 2000. Coach Mauritz coached the Freshmen Baseball team from 2000-2005 and was named the Head Baseball Coach after the 2005 season, succeeding his former coach and mentor, Ed Rowe.

Coach Mauritz has been teaching at Fairfield Prep since the Fall of 1999 and is currently a member of the Social Studies Department. In addition to his teaching and baseball responsibilities, Coach Mauritz has served as an Assistant Hockey Coach since 1998.
