The Fairfield Prep soccer team defeated Xavier High School 1-0, Thursday night in West Haven, to win the SCC Championship. A back and forth game all night, saw Prep senior captain Andrew Nuemeyer score on a penalty kick with only 6 seconds left to secure the victory. The Prep defense was solid all night as Andrew Chiota,
James Burris, Nate Montani and Lucas Ojea Quintana helped shut out Xavier. This was head coach Ryan Lyddy's 4th SCC Championship win in 9 years. The Jesuits will host Stamford in the first round of the CIAC Class LL tournament Tuesday at 4pm at Rafferty Stadium.
