The Fairfield Prep track team has had a strong start to their winter season posting impressive results in the first three events of the year.
In the first SCC Developmental meet, the Jesuits highlights included 9th and 11th place finishes by
Darren Blount and
Tymaine Smith in the 55m run, 10th place by
Angel Perez in the 1000m run and 5th place finish in the 4x200m relay that consisted of Blount, Smith,
John Dooley and
Joshua Bacon.
This past weekend the Jesuits competed in the prestigious Yale Track Classic which included teams from CT and the rest of New England. The Jesuits had 3 record setting performance as both Smith and Blount broke school records in the 55m run. Smith advanced to the semi-finals while Blount reached the finals.
Azaan Dawson also recorded the second fastest 3000m run in school history finishing in 5th place out of 303 runners.
Last night the Jesuits continued their success as the relay team of Dawson, Perez,
Jude Pastorok and
Caleb Bolden took first place in the 4x800m relay. The Jesuits will return to action this coming Saturday in the SCC Coaches Invitational meet in New Haven.
