The Fairfield Prep football team opened the 2021 season with a 29-16 victory over #3 ranked Daniel Hand Friday night at Raffery Stadium. The Jesuits found themselves down 16-3 midway through the second quarter and never looked back, putting up 15 unanswered points and shutting out the Tigers the rest of the way. Conor Smith threw for 147 yards and 2 touchdowns, while running for 47 yards and another score. Running back
Daniel Barnick ran for 71 yards and one touchdown.
Tymaine Smith caught 3 passes for 64 yards and 1 touchdown and
Timmy Pearson caught 6 passes and scored one touchdown. On the defensive side of the ball
Ryan O'Connell made 12 tackles and one sack, while
Tanner Langis added 8 tackles.
Andrew Kral added an interception. The Jesuits will return to Rafferty Stadium on Friday night as they square off against Hillhouse High School at 6pm.
