The Fairfield Prep football team has advanced to the CIAC Class LL State Championship game for the second straight year with a 42-19 victory over Trumbull High School at Rafferty Stadium. The Jesuits were led by quarterback Tyler Smith who threw four touchdown passes. Trey Hartnett caught two while Ryan Preisano and Finbar Malloy each caught one. Wally Wuchiski ran in a touchdown and Patten Royal intercepted a pass and ran it back for a touchdown. On the defensive side of the ball Jon Morris led the way with 14 tackles while Timothy Domizio added 11 tackles of his own. The Jesuits will Greenwich High School in the state championship at Rentschler Field in East Hartford.
