The Fairfield Prep football team defeated West Haven High School 21-14 on Thanksgiving eve, upsetting thethird ranked Westies and clinching a spot in the CIAC class LL playoffs. The Jesuits scored on the opening drive on a 39-yard screen pass from Tyler Smith to Vincent Lombardi and never looked back. Jon Morris ran for 43 yards on the night and punched in a touchdown while Smith threw a 20 yard touchdown to Finbar Malloy. The Jesuits will face Staples High School in the first round of the state tournament.
