The Fairfield Prep lacrosse team won their 6th straight SCC Championship and 16th title overall, with a 13-6 victory over Cheshire Thursday night at West Haven High School. Before the game Prep Head Coach Graham Niemi was honored as SCC Coach of the Year and junior Marco Firmender was named SCC Player of the year. The Jesuits and Rams were tied 4-4 at halftime in a back and forth battle and the Jesuits pulled away in the second half with a 9-2 effort. Peter Grandolfo and Tyler Fox led the way for Prep with 4 goals each while Luke Shannehan added two. Maddux Little, Firmender and Brendan Mullahy each chipped in with a goal a piece. Fox was named MVP of the game. The Jesuits will return to action next week with the opening round of the CIAC Class L tourmanent.
