The Fairfield Prep Jesuit Lacrosse team won the SCC Championship in convincing fashion defeating the Cheshire Rams 17-8 at West Haven High School. The Jesuits led 5-3 after the 1st quarter and never looked back by stretching its lead out to 13-6 after 3 quarters of action. The Prep attack unit of Timothy Shannehan '24,
Nate Estrella '25 and
Luke Shannehan '25 combined for 20 points on the night. Senior defender
Gavin McCarthy '25 was named Most Outstanding Player with 6 ground balls and 5 caused turnovers to lead the defensive effort. Sophomore midfielder
Theo Rudolph also had a big night scoring 2 goals and adding 2 assists. The goalie tandem of
Garrett Keane '24 and
Matt Barry '25 combined for 7 saves to hold a strong Ram offense to only 8 goals on the evening. The victory gave the Jesuits its 18th SCC Tournament Championship and will now begin its quest for the CIAC Class LL Lacrosse Championship on Wednesday.
